Whatever you’re building on the side, tidekeeper helps it grow.

Most of us who live in a terminal have something on the go: a tool other people use, or a product we’d like to turn into a business. Both run on knowing who reads what, and where they came from.

Open source

Get sponsored.

Sponsors want numbers. Show them real ones: a public page of your figures, an embed that follows your site’s light or dark, a view count anyone can ask for. Count every click on Sponsor. With hard mode, your banner can ask readers for support in your own words, as eza’s does:

eza.rocks with tidekeeper’s banner in eza’s blue, asking: Support eza for free? It helps us find sponsors for eza.

“About 1,500 visits a month read this page”, under eza.rocks’s sponsor card, is a tidekeeper number.

Turn readers into customers.

Built it over a weekend? Find out who uses it. Funnels and revenue by source from your first day, on the first plan. Goals, events with their properties, real time. And when a number moves, one sentence says why:

tidekeeper on Android: a site’s goals, funnels, visitors and views, with example figures
CHANGED Thursday’s readers came from news.ycombinator.com: 6,120 of them, to /posts/launch-day. Nothing else moved.

Goals reached, how many finish a funnel, and what moved, on a phone. The sentence above and these figures are examples.

From the terminal to the TV

Everywhere you are. Even your TV.

Most analytics is a tab you forget to open. tidekeeper shows the tide of all your sites in your browser, your terminal and Claude, in your pocket, on your wrist and on the TV across the room.

What people ask first

What happens when the trial ends?

With a credit card, Tide goes on at €9 a month, VAT included, and cancelling before day 31 costs nothing. Without one, nothing is charged: counting stops after the 14 days, and your figures stay readable for 30 days.

What if my project goes viral?

Every view is counted. A spike never stops tidekeeper and never costs extra on its own: only a site that stays over its plan is asked to move up.

Do I need a cookie banner?

In easy mode tidekeeper sets no cookie and keeps nothing on a reader’s device. When you need a banner, tidekeeper is there: hard mode, which needs one in most places, brings a banner in your own words and colours, and lets you see who comes back and what they do across visits.

Can I bring my history?

Yes: from Plausible, Umami, GoatCounter or Matomo. The blog in the chart above came over from Umami, Hacker News day and all.

Will it slow my pages?

The counting script is under 2 KB gzipped (1,570 bytes on eza.rocks) and loads with defer, from tidekeeper or from your own domain. In hard mode, the banner that asks adds about 7 KB.

Can my agent change things?

It reads your figures, and changes things only if you let it.

Is tidekeeper open source? Can I host it myself?

No. We’ve done a lot of open source, eza among it, and seen it taken by others; AI has made that easier. So tidekeeper is closed, and hosted by Point Free ApS in Denmark. What you get instead: every site downloads whole, as a zip of its figures, whenever you want.

Who makes it?

Point Free ApS in Denmark: the company of Christina Sørensen, who maintains eza.

P.S. I maintain eza. eza.rocks runs on tidekeeper, and the line under its sponsor card comes from it. If you build something people use, I’d love you to see your own numbers. — Christina
